If you've updated FCP lately, you've probably realized that the export using quicktime conversion' mpeg2 compressor isn't working. No matter what you do, it's not going to work. The newest versions of FCP don't offer that feature any longer, and someone forgot to take the options in the menu out.
If you've updated, you're probably also wandering why in the hell Compressor no longer works and DVD Studio Pro wants to "serialized." It actually has nothing to do with serializing anything. For some reason the update shuts down Qmaster. So to fix the problem do the following:
1. Open you Mac HDD 2. Open Applications>Utilities>Terminal 3. Type sudo /Library/StartupItems/Qmaster/Qmaster start 4. Problem solved.

I've recently discovered that the above solution also applies when Compressor says "unable to link to background processor."
You have to jump this hoop each time you restart your system. At least until a new permanent fix update is available.
