In ExtremeTech there is an article which discusses the merits of building a Intel based Mac. If you would like to see it check out his link. www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1886910,00.asp Here is an image of the Intel-Mac ExtremeTech's people built. djsaan

Well DJ, you're really going to love this. Here's how to get a dual boot XP/Mac OS on an IntelMac This is all 100% legal, by the way. Apple has said it's not opposed to booting other OSes on Macs. Linux has run on Macs for years. But check this story in Gearlog. Windows XP on Macs: Tested, Benchmarked gearlog.com/blogs/gearlog/archive/2006/03/21/8212.aspx

It just keeps getting better everyone !Now remember, this is just for Intel-Mac's. Get the Bootcamp download at Apple via this link: www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/Apple Unveils Software to Run Windows XP news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060405/ap_on_hi_te/apple_softwareMore and more people are buying and loving Macs. To make this choice simply irresistible, Apple will include technology in the next major release of Mac OS X, Leopard, that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac. Called Boot Camp (for now), you can download a public beta today. Boot Camp lets you install Windows XP without moving your Mac data, though you will need to bring your own copy to the table, as Apple Computer does not sell or support Microsoft Windows.(1) Boot Camp will burn a CD of all the required drivers for Windows so you don't have to scrounge around the Internet looking for them. Run XP natively. Once you’ve completed Boot Camp, simply hold down the option key at startup to choose between Mac OS X and Windows. (That’s the “alt” key for you longtime Windows users.) After starting up, your Mac runs Windows completely natively. Simply restart to come back to Mac. What you'll needMac OS X Tiger v10.4.6 (check Software Update) The latest Firmware update (check Support Downloads) 10GB free hard disk space An Intel-based Mac A blank recordable CD A printer for the instructions (You’ll want to print them before installing Windows, really.) A bona fide installation disc for Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Home or Professional (No multi-disc, upgrade or Media Center versions.) Now with all this said, there are other means out there to do get XP on a Mac, but this is Apple's official Beta. So now you can run PC software on your Intel based Mac which can be a huge savings in software cost. This may get more Mac users into the picture. What do you think Switch ?
