Well, my video capture card arrived today. I got this low end card for my PC as the G3/300 already has the "Wings Card". I was wanting to see what this low end Sabret SBT TVFM card could do. They come with either the Phillips SAA70130 chip set which gets better reviews or the CONEXANT chip set which is said to be more problematic. The software which comes with it
has older drivers I understand but the Sabret.com site
offers newer drivers.
Features include:
Watch TV on PC
Built-in TV Tuner allows you to receive up to 125 channels on cable or TV air broadcasts.
Full Screen TV Display
User friendly software provides studio quality functionality.
Auto scan up to 125 TV channels
OSD function
Channel rename
Supports Composite / S-Video input or Composite Video Camera
Capture Rate: 30 frames per second
Full Screen display
TV Frequency: CATV / VHF / UHF
Favorite TV channel editing
VBI supports Teletext
Support Teletext Mode
Remote control
FM Radio
TV Record and Play
Video Conferencing with Microsoft NetMeeting by adding a Video Camera
So I've found some reviews to read and am on 6 of nearly 10 pages now. The Phillips chip seems to be most preferred in the reviews. So I've got some things
to do with the PC prior to installing this. But it will be fun to see if this can give me a small window on my desktop to watch TV while working.
Anyone else know anything about the Conexant chip ?
